Purcell's Bridge was second off today's mark at Hexham at the start of the month. Blazin White Face is back on a winning mark while veteran Work Boy likes it here. MONTOYA'S SON has to head the short-list despite picking up a penalty for scoring at Sedgefield on his first run back in the country. He's still very well treated on his old form and Craig Nichol claims 3lb so he is preferred to Hexham fourth The Magic Bishop, who will strip fitter here nevertheless.

Oddschecker Verdict

C&D scorer MONTOYA'S SON won pretty much as he liked at Sedgefield last time and despite being burdened with a 7lb penalty, he remains very well treated on his best form and will take some stopping in his bid to follow up. Purcell's Bridge is another who likes it here and warrants plenty of respect lining up off the same mark as when second at Hexham, while Brother Scott held a three-length advantage when parting company with Callum Bewley two from home at the same Northumberland venue latest and he cannot be ruled out off a light weight.

Prediction: 1st Montoyas Son, 2nd Purcells Bridge, 3rd Brother Scott
