Portmonarch went close at Lingfield last time and has claims along with recent course runner-up Grendisar. Flying Tempo looks high enough in the weights now while Keep Calm and Grayswood have something to prove stepping up in trip. Warrigal may bounce back after a disappointing reappearance at Doncaster but the vote goes to Luca Cumani's MALLORY HEIGHTS, beaten a couple of lengths at Windsor on his handicap debut and racing off the same mark today.

Oddschecker Verdict

PORTMONARCH left behind some moderate maiden efforts when third on his handicap debut at Lingfield earlier in the month. David Lanigan's colt, a son of Galileo, tackles the same trip tonight and wouldn't need to improve much upon that effort to atone for a half-length beating. Grendisar is 8lb higher than for his 1m2f victory at Lingfield in January but could strip fitter for his last outing here and provide the main threat. The return to polytrack could also revitalise Warrigal, who disappointed on his handicap bow at Doncaster latest.
