Southwell 16:10 Racecard and Betting Preview
ViewThe supremely well-bred Colour Guard made up for lost time when running out an impressive winner of a 7f maiden at this track recently and can make the most of a lenient mark now handicapping over this longer trip. Follow The Flag looks a danger, while Aquarian Spirit would be interesting if taking to fibresand. 1: COLOUR GUARD 2: FOLLOW THE FLAG (IRE) 3: AQUARIAN SPIRIT |
Sporting Life Preview
Colour Guard is likely to start a short price to follow up his recent 7f maiden win at this track. He looks on a high enough mark to begin his handicap career, however, and a chance is taken that MAWAAKEF will handle the surface. The Irish import is now 8lb lower than when second at Killarney last July and could be much better than we've seen so far in handicaps as he was good enough to finish runner-up in the Group 2 Beresford Stakes as a two-year-old. Greyfriarschorista won by 10 lengths here in December but is 13lb higher today and Dubaianswer makes more appeal as he had On The Cusp behind when scoring over C&D last month. The consistent Follow The Flag also has place claims again. |
