Sporting Life Preview

Golden Acorn has spent most of her hurdling career to date in sellers and claimers and it was at the lowest level in which she got off the mark at Stratford. Jaja De Jau was second at Taunton in March but beaten in a claimer at Worcester a couple of weeks ago, though her stable remains in decent form. AMISTRESS was a decent sort on the level and took just two runs to open her account over hurdles at Wincanton. The handicapper has taken no chances with Renee Robeson's five-year-old but Conor Shoemark is good value for his 7lb claim and a follow up is a distinct possibility. June French may be better than she's shown so far and could be best of the rest.

Oddschecker Verdict

It could pay to side with handicap debutant AMISTRESS. She stepped up on her Towcester placed effort when scoring gamely at Wincanton last time and an opening mark of 98 this afternoon looks fairly lenient. Starlet Mandy warrants respect lining up off a 1lb lower mark then when beaten just one and a half lengths at Towcester, while Golden Acorn, Jaja De Jau and June French make up the shortlist.

Prediction: 1st Amistress, 2nd Starlet Mandy, 3rd Golden Acorn
