Sir Harry Hotspur is a half-brother to a couple of winning jumpers and looks the most interesting of the two newcomers in this. Miss H Lewiss has hinted at ability in point-to-points but IRISH CAVALIER looks capable of improving on his fifth at Stratford last month and is probably the one to beat as Hopping Hare finished last on his debut at Wincanton and Benefitofhindsight was still beaten 27 lengths when fourth at Newton Abbot. Tenor De Guerre looks as though he needs more time.

Oddschecker Verdict

Not a strong race and it could be worth focusing on IRISH CAVALIER and Miss H Lewiss, with preference for the former. Rebecca Curtis has a really good record in this type of event, especially when the champion jockey is called upon, and her representative shaped like the race would do him good when fifth first time out at Stratford. The apparent danger has no previous bumper experience under her belt but she has shown some potential in point-to-points. Benefitofhindsight has enough to prove but wasn't entirely disgraced at Newton Abbot last time.
