He only won by a short-head over 7f here last time, however, and has gone up the obligatory 6lb since though should again beat Hamble. Brown Pete earns full marks for consistency but he's starting to look like a gelding without a trip having been tried over distance ranging from a mile to 1m4f in his last four runs. Gift Of Silence is up a pound for finishing second here last time which means, including Philip Prince's claim, she is giving 8lb to HAIL PROMENADER. Anthony Carson's charge won off a 5lb higher mark over course and distance last July and may have seem too much daylight when favourite at Nottingham last time.

Oddschecker Verdict

Jonnie Skull obviously takes the eye after two recent successes, both of which arrived at the Norfolk track, but has been punished with a 10lb rise for those victories and this remarkably durable performer may just find the hat-trick beyond him at these weights. Brown Pete will crop up again sooner or later and must be in the mix, but GIFT OF SILENCE looks the one with most potential for improvement and Neil Callan is a good booking.
