Due to the tight nature of the turn into the home straight, low draws are favoured at all distances from a mile upwards. This though does depend on a horses running style - prominent runners will struggle to get a good early position if drawn high, but hold up horses should not be too disadvantaged. On the straight course, the bias is thoroughly unpredictable. Often the draw is of little consequence, but on the occasions when a particular part of the track is favoured it tends to be the middle. Over all trips, the ability to obtain a good position up with the pace is more important than the draw itself.
