Mist. DOUBLE: Lease Of Life and All About You. Barry Hills traditionally does well towards the end of the Flat
season and that trend shows no sign of abating this year. The veteran trainer appears to have a likely winner on his hands
in the shape of Lease Of Life in the Windsor Fireworks Spectacular
Saturday 1st November Maiden Stakes. Owned by Khalid Abdullah, the three-year-old made a pleasing
debut at Nottingham recently when finishing a two-length fourth
behind a more experienced colt from Michael Jarvis' yard. There was plenty to like about that introduction and he can only
improve from it. Plenty will be drawn in by Godolphin's Etosha, who finished
second at Pontefract on his first run of the season although that
form is a fair way below the Nottingham event. The Abdullah silks should also be carried to victory by Sir
Michael Stoute's Standpoint in the first division of the EBF Maiden
Stakes. Fourth on both his appearances to date, his first run has been
boosted by the winner Captain Raimus scoring at Listed level in
Ireland on Friday night. Admittedly, he was a beaten odds-on favourite last time but it
is too early to give up on him yet and a drop back to six furlongs
should suit. In the second division it will be a shock if Roger Charlton's
All About You is turned over after the promise he showed on his
debut. He may have been beaten seven lengths but that was by Huntdown
who may be supplemented for the Dewhurst after his performance in
the Middle Park. As Charlton's newcomers generally improve greatly for the run,
he should know a good deal more about the game this time. John Gosden's Lake Windermere looks well-treated in the Betdaq
Betting Exchange Handicap at Kempton. She ran a fine race on her debut at Newcastle in June behind the
useful Persian Sea and stablemate Rhadegunda. As the latter is now rated 80 and the winner over 90, that was a
very good performance for a first go. The filly then followed up as would be expected of a 1-2 shot
next time out and a mark of 72 gives her every chance of adding to
her tally. Marcus Tregoning's string finally seem to be coming into form
and his Rayhani may have dropped to a winnable mark for the
Betdaqpoker.co.uk Handicap. After winning off 89 last May the handicapper has crucified him
but he is finally down to 90 and with the yard going well, he may
be the call in a tight race. It is pretty average stuff at Wolverhampton but if you feel the
need to get involved Kevin Ryan's Willkandoo showed his well-being
at Dundalk recently and may be able to follow up in the Totesuper7
Handicap. |
