Sporting Life Preview

Kayf Blanco went up 5lb for his victory here last month and started favourite at Sedgefield last time but jumped poorly. Right Step is the other course and distance winner in the line-up and he regained the winning threat at Sandown last month but potential punters would need to forgive a shocking run at Towcester last time. Poker School is getting the hang of things but the Irish point-to-point winner may do better over further while Experimentalist has failed to take advantage of a drop in the weights and grade. KUDA HURAA looked a potentially nice prospect when scoring at Huntingdon two years ago and though he's failed to fulfil that promise he's generally performed at a much higher level and didn't take to fences so his quality could see him through here.

Oddschecker Verdict

POKER SCHOOL has finished runner-up the last twice and Ian Williams has found him a good opening so he's worth another chance. The lightly-raced five-year-old lost little in defeat when bumping into the in-form Greybougg at Carlisle last time out and had previously run well for the silver medal at Doncaster. Experimentalist represents a rejuvenated Tim Vaughan yard and cannot be dismissed, and a chance is also given to Kayf Blanco.

Prediction: 1st Poker School, 2nd Experimentalist, 3rd Kayf Blanco
