Madness. DOUBLE: Creachadoir and Colony. Godolphin have taken plenty of stick following Ibn Khaldun's
Classic flop but Creachadoir can banish the blues with victory in
the Juddmonte Lockinge at Newbury. With Ibn Khaldun failing to make the grade in the 2000 Guineas,
many pundits were predicting a gloomy season for the Dubai-based
outfit. However, Sheikh Mohammed's operation have a great record in this
Group One contest and Creachadoir makes plenty of appeal in race
lacking strength in depth. The four-year-old was good enough to finish second in both the
French and Irish 2000 Guineas last season and was not beaten far in
the St James's Palace Stakes either. Subsequently switched from Jim Bolger's care, Creachadoir was a
thoroughly convincing winner of the Joel Stakes on his first start
for Saeed bin Suroor while there was also much to like about his
fourth in the Champion Stakes. The 10-furlong trip was not ideal though, as he showed when
dropped back to a mile and only just beaten by the top-class Good
Ba Ba in the Hong Kong Mile. Admittedly his last run in Dubai was not up to scratch, but the
race was really not run to suit and there will be few better
opportunities than this for a big-race win. Tranquil Tiger should appreciate the step back up in trip in the
Enter The Flat totetentofollow Stakes after finding 12 furlongs a
little too short at Newmarket. Colony can land the totescoop6 London Gold Cup following a
successful seasonal bow at Sandown. A typically lighted-raced sort from Sir Michael Stoute's yard,
the three-year-old triumphed in competitive event at the end of
last month. That was just his third career start and he looks one to keep on
the right side of. Four Miracles can make full use of his featherweight in the
betinternet.com Stakes at Newmarket. He appeared to see out a mile and six furlongs well enough at
the first attempt, finishing second behind Pass The Port at
Nottingham. Although he has something to find on the book, Four Miracles
could be a useful tool. Orpenindeed was quite a useful runner in Italy and the switch
back to turf at Yarmouth last time saw him start to recapture a
little of his old ability. The all-weather surface evidently did not bring out his best
over the winter but Thirsk's Scarborough Handicap looks a good
opportunity. Storyland broke her maiden at Redcar earlier this month and can
make it a quick double in the Profile Fillies' Handicap at
Doncaster. Noticeable might not have hit the heights on the level but he
can strike over obstacles in the JT Hughes Handicap Hurdle at
Bangor. Charmahal looks tailor-made for summer jumping and can open his
account in the Nick Lovett Another One Bites The Dust Handicap
Chase at Uttoxeter
