Anshabil, 3.35 Lannacombe Clover. DOUBLE: Idle Talk and Jimmy Bond. Aintree's famous Grand National fences get their first airing of
the season on Sunday and Idle Talk could be the answer to the
totesport.com Becher Handicap Chase. The nine-year-old was blighted by jumping problems in his
formative years over fences, but they seem to have been ironed out
of late. Donald McCain's charge looked likely to land his first handicap
chase success at Carlisle on his reappearance, but blew up in the
closing stages. Likely to have come on for that outing and having already
completed the Grand National - where he palpably failed to stay -
he can get his head in front where it matters. Jimmy Bond has slipped to his last winning handicap mark and
that could prove vital in the Weatherbys National Hunt Season
Betting Guide Handicap Chase. The nine-year-old finished second in the Grand Sefton Chase at
this meeting 12 months ago on the back of a pipe-opener at
Carlisle, and he comes into this race with the same
preparation. Though never really at the races in Cumbria, he jumped neatly
for much of the race and can derive plenty of benefit from that
outing. Kate Walton's charge won well off this mark at Ayr in March, and
any softening in the ground would work in his favour. Premier Dane was far from finished when coming down over fences
at Cheltenham last time and he can challenge back over the smaller
obstacles in the Toteswinger Handicap Hurdle. Nicky Richards' six-year-old won two chases in the summer and
was still going well enough when coming to grief at the tricky
second-last at Prestbury Park. Equally adept over timber, he has run two cracking races in the
County Hurdle in the last two years and is well worth another crack
at this two-and-a-half-mile trip. Lannacombe Clover made a favourable impression when second on
his debut at Hereford, and he could open his account in the gg.com
Tipzone Intermediate Open National Hunt Flat Race at Towcester. Kevin Morgan's charge found only Nono Le Sage too good last time
and though there are slight question marks about the form, he
certainly looks capable of taking a race of this nature. Panjo Bere made a promising start to his fencing career in June
and he can make a winning return in the Toteswinger Novices' Chase
at Plumpton. Gary Moore's runner was a six-length winner at Fontwell that day
following some good efforts over hurdles and he should relish the
easier ground here. |
