After weeks of speculation in the Boxing world, it seems that both parties have come to an agreement.
It would appear that the Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko fight has now been confirmed, with the news being announced by none other than Mr David Haye. The English heavyweight took to twitter to express his delight; where he also compared the bout to Muhammad Ali’s famous last fight, in which he was defeated by a younger Trevor Berbick. Perhaps a slightly naïve comparison, as this is far from a guaranteed victory for Joshua.
Great to hear Joshua-Klitschko is done. Timing is everything & the time now is perfect for AJ.:flag-gb: Reminds me of Ali :older_man::skin-tone-5:Vs Berbick #FatherTime— David Haye (@mrdavidhaye) October 11, 2016
This statement further supports Eddie Hearn’s claims yesterday that the fight was ‘nearly done’ and the recently published Oddschecker article - in which sources had claimed the fight was ‘99% done’.
With Tyson Fury looking likely to vacate his belts in the near future; could AJ be adding more belts to his collection? All he has to do now is defeat one of the greatest world champions ever to grace the sport, on a date which has not yet been declared. All Joshua v Klitschko odds here
