Following the sacking of Paul Trollope as Cardiff City manager, Neil Warnock has emerged as the clear favourite to take over.
According to the bookmakers Neil Warnock looks set to land the vacant Cardiff City managerial role.
Following the news that Paul Trollope, along with assistant coach Lennie Lawrence and performance director Ryland Morgans, had left Cardiff, Warnock was immediately priced as short as 1/10 with SkyBet.
The departure of Trollope, Lawrence and Morgans suggests the Bluebirds will be announcing a replacement soon, with Warnock apparently waiting in the wings and ready to take over.
Warnock is an extremely experienced Championship manager after spells in charge of Sheffield United, Crystal Palace, Queens Park Rangers, Leeds and Rotherham.
With links to Cardiff, Ryan Giggs and Craig Bellamy, are names that will appeal to Cardiff City fans. Giggs was overlooked for the Swansea job in favour of Bob Bradley and now looks set to miss out with Cardiff as well. The former Manchester United assistant manager is 6/1 to get the gig.
Bellamy would be a popular choice and is guaranteed to bring a great deal of passion to the club. Despite question marks over his managerial ability he is 10/1 to land the role.
Outsiders include available managers Roberto Di Matteo, Steve Bruce and Steve McClaren while Dave Jones, who managed the Bluebirds from 2005-2011, is 25/1 to return.
Neil Warnock will be a safe choice for Cardiff but will they regret not taking a chance on either Ryan Giggs or Craig Bellamy? Our poll suggests Cardiff fans will be happy with Warnock's appointment.
