Saara Aalto cut from 125/1 to 5/2 to win the X Factor

Following yet more praise from the judges this weekend, Saara is now as short as 15/8 to win the series, having been 125/1 just a few weeks ago.

This weekend’s X Factor signalled the end for rap queen Honey G and it was the Finnish representative, Saara Aalto, that stole the show. Saara’s two songs earned universally positive feedback from the judges, with Louis calling her rendition of Abba’s ‘The Winner Takes It All’ “one of the best performances ever seen on X Factor”.

Saara has had an interesting ride in the competition. The singer began the live shows at the start of October at best-price 50/1 to win the series. However, Saara spent the first two weeks in the bottom two, relying solely on the judges to survive and drifted out to a massive 125/1. The former outsider has now steered clear of the bottom two in three consecutive weeks and appears to have won the nation over. At 5/2, Saara is now as short as she has ever been to win the X Factor, behind odds-on favourite Matt Terry.

What’s also interesting is the fact that her performances get considerably more YouTube views than any other contestant, even novelty act Honey G. Saara’s performances have now amassed a huge 14.2 million views – more than twice as many as any of her competitors. Having been cut from 125/1 to as short as 15/8 in just five weeks the bookmakers believe she has a real chance heading into semi-final week.

With just the four remaining acts, Matt Terry is the 4/6 favourite, Saara Aalto is 5/2, Emily Middlemas is 9/1 with 5 After Midnight best-price 10/1.
