Having failed to score in their opening two fixtures, Arsenal are set to abandon their policy of signing Ligue 1 fancy footed
finishers and will instead go for lumbering Bosnian brickwall Edin Dzeko. Dzeko would be a great asset for trips to Stoke...so next season he
may come in useful. Arsenal have been cut from 18/1 to 9/2 to sign the City striker but will face competition from AC Milan
and Juventus who are getting extremely desperate.
Talking of that desperation, after missing out on Count Dimitar Berbatov, Juventus now head the betting to sign Nicklas Bendtner. The best thing out of Denmark since open sandwiches is now 1/4 to join the Serie
A champions, AC Milan fans can rest a little easier now they are out to a reassuring 6/1 to make the 'coup'.
Talking of coups, Manchester City fans would have thought their landmark signing of hotshot 34 year young keeper Richard Wright
would have been enough to curb Mancini's demands for new players, but alas the Italian is just never satisfied. The arrival
of Edinson Cavani would pale into insignificance in the wake of Wright, who left
Preston after just three days because he was homesick but a move remains in the offing. City are as short as 8/15 to complete
the deal before Friday with 11/10 the best price.
Elsewhere, Charlie Adam. will be given license to foul when Tony Pulis signs the Liverpool
cast-off. Adam is 1/4 from last week's 25/1 to sign for Stoke. Sunderland meanwhile have agreed to sell Kieron Richardson
to Fulham and hope to make off with Clint Dempsey in return. The American has been cut to as short as 1/2 to join
with Liverpool out to 7/4.
Finally, having been 1/6 to stay at Spurs just two days ago, you can now back Rafael van der Vaart at odds against to remain at White Hart Lane at the weekend.
