Andy Murray is set to meet Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarter finals of the Australian Open with Novak Djokovic the Scotsman's semi-final opponent, if the seeding proves to be correct. Nadal and Federer are in the other half of the draw alongside Berdych, del Potro, Fish and Australia's number one, Bernard Tomic amongst others. Defending champion, Djokovic, remains the favourite to win his third title in Melbourne.
QPR are the new favourites to sign Tevez in January amidst a string of rumours linking the Argentine with a move to Mark Hughes' new club. The Welshman signed Tevez for City back in 2009 and the former Man United man blossomed under Hughes' guidance. The link of Media Sports tycoon, Kia Joorabchian, could prove instrumental in the next destination of the City outcast.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are set to renew acquaintances in the Copa del Rey quarter finals. The Spanish rivals will play home and away on the 18th and 25th of January - their eighth and ninth meetings since the start of last year. Fresh from a 3-1 win at the Bernabeu last month, Barcelona go into the clash as obvious favourites, however, Madrid's only recent win over the Catalans came in the competition's final last season.
Tottenham ran out comfortable 2-0 winners over Everton as the sides finally played the match which had been scheduled for the opening day of the season. The win puts the North Londoners level on points with Man United and just three behind league leaders Manchester City.
