Market Summaries

Top Movers / Antepost Top Movers
The Top Movers report lists the latest movers for a single bookmaker in the market. For example, Light Sentance has moved from 11/2 to 9/2 with Betfred, and the best odds available in the market are also 9/2. The report is ordered by significance, a calculated value identifying how significant the move is. For example, a 100/1 shot moving to 50/1 is less significant than a 8/1 shot moving to 6/1.
Top Differences / Antepost Top Diffs
The Top Differences report lists the latest differences between bookmaker odds for the same bet. For example, Madiba is available as short as 100/1 and as long as 250/1. The number of bookmakers offering those prices is available in the brackets or if it is just one bookmaker the bookmaker initials appear. The report is ordered by the biggest difference to the smallest difference.
Steamers / Steamers by Time
The Steamers report lists the latest steamers in the market. A steamer is defined as a selection that has shortened in the market from it's opening price with more than two bookmakers. The opening price is the first price the bookmaker offered when pricing up the selection. The Steamers report states the best price still available for the selection, e.g. Evens (1) for Sixties Icon and the number of bookmakers it has moved with, e.g. 3. The report is ordered by significance as described in Top Movers.
The Steamers by Time report provides the same data but in time order.
Drifters
The Drifters report provides the complete opposite of the Steamers report. It lists the latest drifters in the market. A drifter is defined as a selection that has lengthened in price from it's opening price by more than two bookmakers. The Drifters report states the best price available for the selection, e.g. 16/1 for Mountain and the number of bookmakers it has moved with, e.g. 6. The report is ordered by significance as described in Top Movers.
Best Books
Oddschecker calculates the total book (overround or overbroke) for each event. The larger the book value, the more money the bookies make. The smaller the overround, the more chance the punter has to make money. The meaning of overrounds is discussed in the Help Centre Glossary.
The Best Book report provides a list of book values in the market ordered from lowest book value to highest book value. For example, the 17:45 race at Roscommon shown above has a book value of 106%.
