Robbie Handley has five selections for the Twenty20 action on Friday night.
Early last season saw Leicestershire upset Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire upset Lancashire and Kent smash 193 to beat Surrey, which makes Worcestershire to beat, or least give Birmingham a run for their money intriguing. Kiwi Mitchell Santner lines up for Birmingham this yea, an explosive all-rounder who hits the ball a mile. He has the ability to steal the show and the Sky cameras should only spur him on for his new county side.
Elsewhere, England superstar Jos Butler always looks completely at home in the T20 blast, as his county side Lancashire take on Durham tonight, he’s certainly worth backing to top score for Lancashire at 7-2. The team also includes Martin Guptill who is up there with the cleanest strikers of a cricket ball in world cricket. These 2 in the same team promises plenty of maximums and an uncomfortable night for Durham’s attack. Lancashire to score the most 6’s in the match at 10-13 looks a strong possibility.
Lastly, Hampshire vs Middlesex looks set to be an early season cracker at Uxbridge. Darren Sammy and Shahid Afridi are set to line up for Hampshire, who are always the benchmark of a good T20 side and of course, winners of the competition in 2010 and 2012. Hampshire are the smart money for me, back them at 5-6.
