England v Pakistan 2nd ODI - Saturday 10:30, Sky Sports 2

After a Duckworth-Lewis win for England at the Ageas Bowl, the ODI series moves to the capital this Saturday. Lord’s isn’t a happy hunting ground for the home side who haven’t won a 50 over game there since the visit of the Proteas back in 2012. It is somewhat of a venue which tourists enjoy, perhaps the home of cricket tag and an opportunity to be on the honours board spurring them on. Recent stand out bowling performances here include Australia’s Pat Cummins and Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga both of which bowl express pace, much like England’s Mark Wood and Pakistan’s Wahab Riaz, who I am backing to be their respective team's top bowler at Lord’s.

Mark Wood Top England Bowler [2nd ODI] - 1pt @ 7/2
Wahab Riaz Top Pakistan Bowler [2nd ODI] - 1pt @ 7/2

A gulf in class at the top of the innings came to the fore on Wednesday. Although Hales went cheaply, Roy and Root marched on brilliantly and after 15 overs were 91-1. In contrast, Pakistan’s top order limped to 65-2 off their first 15 and I expect this to be a common theme throughout the series. 8/11 sees England having the highest first 15 overs, which is an absolute must.

England Highest 15 Overs [2nd ODI] - 2pt @ 8/11

Staying with the England top order and you’ll notice Roy is very much a form player, who cashes in when he is seeing the ball well. He is certainly doing that at the moment and has an apparent enjoyment of facing this Pakistan attack who put plenty of pace on the ball. At this stage, Roy to top score for England in the series looks a sound investment.
