Frenchman cut to 10/1 from 25/1 to be the next England manager, following a flurry of bets.
Following reports that the FA are keen to speak to Arsene Wenger over the vacant England job, we have seen a stream of bets through Oddschecker backing the Arsenal manager to be the man to replace Roy Hodgson.
On Wednesday, Wenger was as long as 25/1 to be the next England manager, but betting activity has seen his odds come in as short as 10/1 (available at 22/1 at a couple of bookmakers). It is unlikely the FA would wait until the end of the season for Wenger to make his stance clear so could the deal happen sooner rather than later?
FA technical director Dan Ashworth is arranging talks with a number of candidates to succeed Hodgson and it is believed that speaking to Wenger is high on his list of priorities.
This latest plot twist comes just 24 hours after the FA had supposedly ruled out any manager that couldn’t speak the language, or lacked Premier League experience. Both criteria stand Wenger in good stead.
