Following Hasselbaink’s sacking, Sherwood has been installed as the 13/8 favourite to replace him.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was sacked after QPR’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday, having won just 14 out of 47 matches in his 11 months in charge. The Dutchman was appointed in December last year and leaves the Hoops in 17th, just six points off the drop zone. Following his sacking, club officials said that an announcement about his successor “will be made in due course”.
Tim Sherwood is the front-runner to replace Hasselbaink at best-price 13/8. The former Tottenham and Aston Villa boss, and friend of QPR Director of Football Les Ferdinand, is as short as 8/11 to take over.
Elsewhere, former Derby manager and current Bayern Munich assistant, Paul Clement, is the 11/4 second favourite to return to management, whilst the bookies are not ruling out a return to Loftus Road for Ian Holloway. Holloway managed QPR for five years between 2001 and 2006, during which he achieved promotion to the Championship in 2004. The former R’s boss is best-price 13/2 to replace Hasselbaink.
Alternatively, you can get 18/1 on QPR appointing fans’ favourite Marc Bircham, whilst Sam Allardyce is 25/1 for the job.
