City have hit the ground running this season and they should have too much for Glory.
City have had the perfect start to their campaign as they won at Wellington in their opener and thumped Victory 4-1 in the derby, with new signing Tim Cahill hitting the ground running as he opened the scoring. Perth, meanwhile, bounced back from letting a three goal lead slip against the Mariners to beat Wellington 2-0 at home, though this will be a much tougher test against the early title favourites.
City won nine of their 14 home games last term and if we only include games against top-half sides they were W4-D0-L2, with those defeats against the top two, Adelaide and Wanderers. They managed just one clean sheet in these games and they tended to be high-scoring, with three seeing more than three goals, including a 5-1 victory over Perth themselves.
That victory came early on in the season when Perth were struggling and they went on to win five of their finals seven road games. Having said that, each of those victories came against bottom-four sides and Glory lost all six of their trips to top-four sides, but managed to score in half of these defeats. With that in mind, we’re backing City to win and both teams to score, as was the case in seven of their nine home wins last term.Bet £10 Get £20 Free
