Victory have lost just two of their home games since the start of last season.
Melbourne Victory v Western Sydney Wanderers - Saturday 08:50, BT Sport 1
Victory let a lead slip at Sydney last time out as they were beaten 2-1 and as a result drop down to 5th. That’s one place above the Wanderers, who drew for the third consecutive game after it finished 2-2 in Perth, though that was certainly a better result than stalemates at home to the Mariners and the Jets.
Victory were thumped 4-1 in the Melbourne derby in their opening home game but bounced back with a 6-1 hammering of Wellington, meaning they’ve lost just two of their 15 home games since the start of last season. Indeed, they beat each of the top four at the Etihad Stadium last term and at odds-against they look a good price to win.
The Wanderers have won seven of their 16 road games since the start of last season but six of these victories came against bottom-three teams. What’s more, they look some way off the team that managed the majority of those victories last term as they had to come from behind in their only win so far to beat struggling Adelaide, while they failed to beat the Jets and Mariners at home.
