Brisbane have won seven of their eight games against top-six teams at home in the last two seasons.
Brisbane Roar v Sydney FC – Saturday 08:50, BT Sport 1
After six rounds of the A-League, Sydney’s perfect record remains intact, and they look to extend it on a trip to third-placed Brisbane this weekend. Brisbane are undefeated at home in the league this season and have a formidable W10-D1-L1 record against the Sky Blues at Suncorp Stadium in their last 12, so Sydney can expect a stern test as they chase a record-equalling seventh straight win to begin the season.
Sydney come into this game having conceded only twice in the league this term, with both goals against them scored in home wins. Second-choice keeper Vedran Janjetovic is ill, but is the only absentee from the Sky Blues’ squad, who have benefited from the red-hot form of Milos Ninkovic (four goals and five assists in six A-League rounds), as well as four goals from Alex Brosque and three from Bobo. For the home side, Jamie Maclaren returns and will bolster a side whose own three-game winning streak came to an end last week at Adelaide. His goals will be a significant boost for an outfit that has scored only six league goals this season.
Sydney have scored 17 goals in the league this season, so it seems reasonable to expect them to score, but Brisbane have won seven of their eight games against top-six teams at home across the last two seasons, and Sydney have only won once in their last 13 games at Suncorp. It’s one of the hardest places to visit so we’re backing Brisbane Roar/Over 2.5.Acca Bonus
