PSG should be able to take advantage of a struggling Lille side hampered by injuries.
Lille v PSG – Friday 19:45, BT Sport Europe
PSG aren’t having it all their own way this year as a goalless draw at home to Marseille, who became the side to fail to register a shot of any description in a Ligue 1 game, means they’ve now dropped six points behind leaders Nice. They’ve already lost as many games as they did in the whole of last term, with both their defeats coming on the road.
After home defeats to high-flying Toulouse and Monaco, Lille have recorded back-to-back home wins, albeit against teams also struggling in Ligue 1. They’ve already lost six times this term as they’ve failed to kick-on from last year’s impressive campaign. A poor second half has often led to their downfall with three of these losses coming despite being level at the break, while one came after leading at half-time.
Although PSG aren’t at their fluent best we expect them to have enough against a struggling Lille side, hampered by a long injury list. Take the 4.5 available on Draw/PSG half-time/full-time as it may take them till the second half to assert their dominance against Frederic Antonetti’s side, who’ve had six half-time draws in their last seven at home and in seven of their 10 games this season. This was a common theme for PSG even in their pomp last year where 12 of their 19 away fixtures were level at the break, nine of which the Parisians went on to win.
