Bayern should prove too hot for Leverkusen to handle in Saturday's live Bundesliga match.
Bayern Munich v Bayer Leverkusen – Saturday 17:30, BT Sport 2
Bayer Leverkusen will take heart from Bayern Munich’s shock loss against Rostov midweek in the Champions League, but will nevertheless be braced for a stern test when they travel to the Allianz Arena this Saturday to face the league’s second-placed team. They have won away at Bayern just once since 1989, and coming away with a point would be a significant achievement for Leverkusen.
Bayern will, of course, be reeling after the defeat in Russia that slowed their Champions League progress, but their home form remains strong. They’ve not lost at home in the league since March, although it should be noted that they were lucky to secure a draw last time out at the Allianz against Hoffenheim after an own goal got the hosts back on level pegging. An away defeat by Dortmund will be a concern as well, as it adds to a streak in which they’ve conceded in five of their last six fixtures.
Leverkusen’s domestic form of late has been very shaky. Losses to Bremen, Frankfurt and Monchengladbach away since the start of the season will not fill the travelling fans with confidence, but while we think they won’t take any points away from Munich, we think they’ll nick a goal, so we back Bayern to win and both to score.
