City have struggled to keep a clean sheet this season so expect Monchengladbach to strike.
Man City v Borussia Monchengladbach - Tuesday 19:45, BT Sport ESPN
These sides meet again in the Champions League again, after City beat Andre Schubert’s side at home and away in the group stages last term. Glabach were in poor form at that stage having lost their opening five league games but they bounced back strongly after that slow start to finish up in 4th and they look to have started better this time around, beating Leverkusen at home in their opener and winning both legs of their qualifier against Young Boys. City have also started excellently, having won all six of their games under Guardiola, including a very impressive 2-1 win at Old Trafford.
The Citizens managed clean sheets against Dynamo Kiev, PSG and Real Madrid in the knockout stages at the Etihad last term but they’ve won only six of their 17 Champions League home games since 2012/13 and led at the break in only one of these games.
With that in mind, City may look on the short side at around the 1.5 mark but Monchengladbach were poor travellers last term as they lost 10 of their 17 road games in the Bundesliga and suffered 3-0 and 4-2 defeats at Sevilla and City respectively.
With Aguero returning to the side, we expect City to get the win here, but since they’re yet to keep a clean sheet in the league under Guardiola, we expect Monchengladbach to get on the scoresheet as they did at the Etihad last term playing their attacking, attractive brand of football. As a result we’re backing City to Win and Both Teams to Score.
