Arsenal can seal their place in the knockout stages with victory in Bulgaria on Tuesday.
Ludogorets v Arsenal - Tuesday 19:45, BT Sport ESPN
Ludogorets didn’t put up much resistance when beaten 6-0 by Arsenal a fortnight ago. However, they’ve bounced back by scoring at last four times in each of their three matches since and are still in with a chance of finishing third in the group to progress to the Europa League. Arsenal, meanwhile, will have their eyes on winning the group and another comfy win would put them perfectly on course to achieve that.
Some decent teams have gone to Ludogorets in recent times, with PSV losing here 2-0 three years ago, Lazio and Liverpool being held to draws and Real Madrid only narrowly winning 2-1. PSG have already made the trip this season though and were 3-1 winners, and we can’t argue with the Gunners short price of 1.33 to win. However, since Georgi Dermendzhiev took over, Ludogorets have scored in eight of their nine home matches in Europe and we can use their attacking threat to find some extra value.
Arsenal are in superb form and fully deserved their 4-1 win at the weekend, with Olivier Giroud making an immediate impact on his return from injury. They’ve scored four times in three of their last four away matches so we don’t doubt their scoring potential. However, they’ve kept just two clean sheets in their last nine European away matches and in their last 16 Champions League group stage trips to teams from outside Europe’s ‘Big Five’ leagues they’ve kept just one. The Gunners should win this but take the Bulgarians to nick one themselves and back Arsenal Win and Both Teams to Score.
