The visitors might not be able to hold out for the full 90 minutes.
Bristol City v Blackburn - Saturday 15:00
Lee Johnson has challenged his Bristol City players to start adapting and learn how to win in different ways. The Robins have lost twice in the past eight days but remain in striking distance of the top six. According to Johnson, the televised defeat at Cardiff showed the world how to beat his team, then QPR copied it and got the same result.
The Robins have been struggling to impose their game in recent matches but it’s a feature of their play that they tend to dominate in short bursts anyway. On six seperate occasions they’ve scored twice in the space of ten minutes, on two of those occasions adding a third soon after. But Johnson insists they need to scrap it out sometimes.
Mind you, Blackburn aren’t likely to employ spoiling tactics here. They will get two banks of four behind the ball in their standard 4-4-2 but they will look to keep City out by controlling possession, which they’ve been achieving with increasing regularity of late. Back the 0-0 half time correct score at 2/1, a bet that has landed in Rovers’ last five away games.
The resistence of Owen Coyle’s men rarely lasts for the full 90 minutes though. They have conceded at least once after the interval on each occasion, slumping to defeat at Leeds (twice) and Birmingham, finishing level at QPR and winning at Derby. All things considered, the 4/1 available on the Draw/Bristol City half time/full time option looks fair enough.
