Roda v PSV – Saturday 18:45, Sky Sports 5

A good old-fashioned David and Goliath match-up gets under way on Saturday evening in the Eredivisie as Roda host PSV. The hosts remain mired in trouble at the bottom of the table but have strung together a run of six games unbeaten, while PSV aim to keep up an unbeaten run stretching back to mid-September that has seen them keep the pressure on Feyenoord and Ajax at the top of the table.

Roda took a 2-0 lead against Sparta in Rotterdam last weekend and will rue their defensive miscues as the hosts clawed back to 2-2 full-time. They are the only team in the league yet to reach double figures in the ‘goals scored’ column, and their hopes of rectifying this look slim against a team that thumped them 4-0 in the cup earlier in the season, which was the last time these two sides met. The visitors will be buoyed by Luuk de Jong finally scoring after 900 minutes of football without finding the net, and by the fact that they have won 12 of their 14 trips to bottom-six sides since 2014/15 while scoring more than three goals per game.

PSV should be able to bring Roda’s unbeaten run to an end fairly convincingly, and given their scoring power we’re going to back them to cover the -2 handicap.
