Accrington could cash in if Bradford don't give this fixture maximum attention.
Bradford v Accrington - Saturday 15:00
When these two teams met in the EFL Cup back in August, they played 120 minutes and couldn’t muster a goal between them. Accrington went through on penalties and further showcased their shut-up-shop credentials by going another 215 minutes without conceding a goal against Premier League opposition in the following two rounds.
Three weeks later, Burnley were beaten in the last minute of extra time, while only a moment of Dimitri Payet magic in the 96th minute spared West Ham’s blushes at the London Stadium in late September, so don’t be put off by the fact that this clash will take place at Valley Parade. It’s a venue where Stanley have avoided defeat on six of their last seven visits.
The case for an Accrington clean sheet at 5/1 might seem wildly optimistic on the basis that Bradford have netted six goals in their last two matches but those six goals came from all six shots on target. In fact, over the past four matches, the Bantams have only tested the keeper eight times, seven of those efforts finding the net.
With Stuart McCall’s men in the thick of a promotion push, it’s debatable how much this competition really matters to them and Accrington’s cup exploits up to this point warrant an interest on the draw no bet market at 4/1. A replay (and the possible TV money resulting from it) might be just as attractive though. No goalscorer at 11/1 is the jackpot wager.
