Gijon and Valencia should serve up goals in Sunday evening's live TV clash.
Gijon v Valencia - Sunday 17:30, Sky Sports 3
Having been unbeaten in their first three games, Gijon have lost their last four to drop down to 16th, though two of those were against Barcelona and Atletico. Valencia are down in 18th but there are signs of improvement after they lost their first four as they won their next two before being beaten 2-0 by Atletico, and they look much more organised under Cesare Prandelli.
The defeat against Barcelona ended a run of five straight home wins for Gijon and their record when hosting sides between 7th and 14th last term was W5-D0-L3 as they scored an average of two goals in these games but managed just two clean sheets and as a result five of these games saw more than two goals.
Valencia are also without a clean sheet so far this season but have netted in five of their seven games and so we expect there to be goals in this and are backing Over 2.5 Goals at evens. Valencia have lost 12 of their 22 road games since the start of last season and won only two of their trips to bottom-half teams last term and so look very short here at 2.2. Gijon’s strong home record against relevant opposition means that we’re backing them to win and both teams to score as they’ve conceded in six of their last eight home wins.
