Luis Enrique’s look vulnerable against a Sevilla side playing with a lot of confidence at home.
Sevilla v Barcelona – Sunday 19:45, Sky Sports 3
It was contrasting fortunes for these two sides in the Champions League as Sevilla beat Dinamo Zagreb comfortably, while Barcelona were humbled by Man City. That defeat was Barca’s second in three away matches with a last-minute winner at Valencia their other result in this sequence.
Sevilla have continued their outstanding home form this season with maximum points taken from their five games thus far, including an impressive 1-0 victory over the previously unbeaten Atletico Madrid. A trip to Sevilla is one of the toughest fixtures in the division as they’ve won 19 of their last 22 in front of their own fans and when hosting the ‘Big Three’ they’ve lost just two of their seven since 2014/15, with victories in their last meetings with all three.
Barca were missing the defensive abilities of Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba and their midfield maestro Andres Iniesta at City. Right-back Sergi Roberto looked all at sea at the Etihad and it’s certainly not a bad time to playing the men from Catalonia. This represents another really difficult away day for Luis Enrique’s side and with Sevilla playing with so much confidence at home we’ll back them to win again against Barca.
