A stalemate could be on the cards in Las Palmas this evening (live on Sky Sports 2).
Las Palmas v Athletic Bilbao - Monday 19:45, Sky Sports 2
Las Palmas lost away at Real Betis last time out and it’s now just won win in seven, though four of these have been drawn. Their home form is much better though, where they are unbeaten at the Estadio de Gran in 10 games stretching back to the beginning of April, winning five of these.
Athletic Bilbao have struggled on their recent road trips, losing two of their last three and drawing the other, but they’re unbeaten in five matches across all competitions after consecutive victories in the Europa League. They saw off Italian outfit Sassuolo at home on Thursday to follow up last weekend’s triumph over high-flying Villarreal, and remain well in the hunt for European places next year.
Both fixtures between these two sides ended in a draw last season, and given Las Palmas’ recent form we think this is where the value lies. It took a 94th minute penalty against Eibar in their last home game to avoided a fourth home draw in a row, and we wouldn’t want to put anyone off the draw/draw in the half-time/full-time market at 5.5. Athletic Bilbo have been level at the interval in each of their last four in the league, whilst Las Palmas have drawn the first half in four of their six home matches so far this season.
