Leeds look worth supporting to see off Norwich in the League Cup on Tuesday night.
Leeds v Norwich - Tuesday 19:45
Alex Neil has made 21 changes in the last two rounds of this competition and, on both occasions, was rewarded with a performance better than he probably imagined. In late August, Norwich put six goals past Coventry. In late September, they caused one of the biggest upsets so far, eliminiating then-unbeaten Everton with a 2-0 win at Goodison.
However, the Canaries approached both those games with a sense of freedom and collectivity that might be absent at Elland Road. A shock 1-0 home defeat against Preston at the weekend has raised the stakes, giving some of those players a genuine chance to force themselves into the reckoning for the trip to Brighton on Saturday, meaning personal interests might take precedence.
Either way, an interval lead has been instrumental to most of Norwich’s good work of late but Leeds haven’t conceded a first-half goal for ten matches and their process-driven manager Garry Monk is expected to name his strongest available starting 11, demanding that the players continue to follow the blueprint that sees them five unbeaten at home (four wins).
So take the 6/1 available on the Draw/Leeds half time/full time option, while the Leeds 1-0 correct score at 17/2 also warrants an interest. The Whites have won six matches (out of nine) since they started putting their game on the pitch to Monk's satisfaction and five of them have copped one or both of the above bets.
