Millwall v Bolton - Tuesday 19:45

Mark Beevers returns to the New Den with his reputation as one of League One’s top defenders still intact, having now forged arguably the division’s most formidable centre back partnership alongside David Wheater. And his presence here could be a painful reminder of what Millwall have been missing. Take the 17/5 available on Bolton to keep a clean sheet.

The big Yorkshireman was a mainstay of the Lions side that reached Wembley last season, at the expense of Phil Parkinson’s Bradford. He missed only six games in all competitions for the Londoners, four of which ended in defeat, and he was instrumental in 18 shut-outs. But his desire to move back north enabled Parkinson to prise him away from the capital in the summer.

Needless to say, Beevers can probably expect a hot reception on his return but his familiarity with the surroundings should be an ideal platform for Wanderers as they attempt to build on successive win-to-nil victories over Swindon and Oldham. Whether they have the creativity to take all the spoils is up for debate, though, and a bet on no goalscorer at 10/1 is also recommended.

September was a dreadful month for Millwall but they used the international break to knuckle down on the training ground. The hard work over that fortnight paid instant dividends with a 3-1 win at Northampton on Saturday, but the scoreline was inflated by a red card for the Cobblers early in the second half. The 27/10 on under 1.5 goals is too big and makes for a decent cover bet.

Under 1.5 goals - 1pt @ 27/10
Bolton to keep a clean sheet - 1pt @ 17/4
No goalscorer - 1pt @ 10/1
