Monaco have won their last seven in all competitions and can strike at Nice on Wednesday.
Nice v Monaco - Wednesday 18:00, BT Sport 2
Surprisingly 2nd host 1st here as Monaco travel to Nice for the Côte d'Azur derby. Nice lost at home to Schalke in the Europa League last week, their first home defeat of the season, while Monaco have won all four away matches including impressive wins at Villarreal and Spurs in their Champions League excursions.
In Ligue 1, Nice have lost just one of their last 14 at home including seven wins in their last eight. However, this form is not as imperious as it first looks as three of the seven victories came against sides that got relegated and although they remain unbeaten this term they scraped past Rennes 1-0, drew to Lille and had to come from behind in the last 15 minutes to beat Marseille.
It should prove a much stiffer challenge against an in-form Monaco side, who’ve won their last seven in all competitions. This will be both sides’ third game within a week, forcing them to juggle their squads and the strength in depth Leonardo Jardim has at his disposal, especially in the midfield area, will certainly be advantageous for the visitors.
Indeed, Nice have lost eight of their last 12 when hosting top-six sides, while Monaco have won all three trips to the Allianz Riviera since Nice returned to the top-flight in 2013/14. We’ll back them to win and make it four out of four.
