A narrow home win looks on the cards when Houston travel to Seattle on Thursday morning.
Seattle Sounders v Houston Dynamo - Thursday 03:30
Seattle are well-placed to make it through to the playoffs as they currently sit in 5th and have three regular season games remaining, one more than most of their nearest rivals. Houston, meanwhile, are currently propping up the bottom of the Western Conference and while they have a chance of avoiding the wooden spoon, their playoff hopes ended some time ago.
Seattle are certainly one of the form teams in the MLS as they’ve won their last four to shoot up the table and they’ve also won their last four at CenturyLink Field. Indeed, they’ve won their last six at home to sides currently in the bottom half of their respective conferences, though they haven’t been prolific scorers as they netted more than twice in just one of these games and four of their victories were either 1-0 or 2-0.
Houston have lost their last two but those were in tough fixtures against Colorado and New York City. Having lost nine of their opening 12 road games, they’ve since won two of three unbeaten away games and as a result they should prove competitive here, though we expect Seattle to have too much for them. Three of Houston’s last four away defeats were by one goal to nil and since Seattle have won their last two at home 1-0, the home win and Under 2.5 Goals is our standout selection, with the 1-0 correct score an 8.0 shot.
