Southampton v Burnley - Sunday 16:00, Sky Sports 1

Southampton may have only drawn against Leicester in their last game, but they outfought the champions and look to be entering some form. Only some fine saves from Kasper Schmeichel and some poor finishing prevented the Saints from taking all three points and this only served to reinforce the belief that without Charlie Austin they will struggle to score goals. Nathan Redmond and Shane Long continue to show a lack of composure in front of goal, but Southampton are now unbeaten in six matches across all competitions, keeping a clean sheet in all of these games and winning four.

Burnley lost controversially to Arsenal in their last match, conceding in injury time in the cruelest of fashion. Like Southampton, Burnley’s strength lies in their defence, with centre-half Michael Keane receiving a surprise call-up to the England squad. However, they only look marginally better equipped than when they were relegated a couple of seasons ago and Sean Dyche’s men are struggling to adapt to the pace and quality of the Premier League.

This should be a game without too many chances at either end, but Southampton’s good form and home advantage ought to be enough to see them claim the victory. At least one team has failed to score in nine of Burnley’s last 10 matches, and we think that is likely to continue here with a narrow Southampton win. We’re backing Southampton to Win and Under 2.5 goals at 3.4.
