The Gunners can return to winning ways at the Emirates on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal v Bournemouth - Sunday 14:15, Sky Sports 1
Arsenal showed some real grit and determination to drag themselves back into their game against Man Utd last week, a trait not often associated with Arsene Wenger’s side in recent years. They’ve come out of a crucial week with draws against Spurs, Man Utd and PSG to maintain their unbeaten run since an opening day defeat at home to Liverpool. However, they will want to regain some winning momentum here at home to Bournemouth, and with Chelsea three points ahead plus a goal difference five better than their own (by the time of kick-off the gap could be six points), nothing else other than a win will please the Emirates faithful on Sunday.
Bournemouth recovered from defeats against Middlesbrough and Sunderland to emerge triumphant over Stoke last week, their first in eight matches away from the Vitality Stadium, and as a result move up into the top-half of the table. Since their promotion though, Eddie Howe’s side have struggled when playing the top teams. In their last nine fixtures against last season’s top-four they’ve trailed at both half-time and full-time in seven and drawn the other two, whilst Arsenal did the double over them last season with 2-0 wins both home and away (winning the first half in both of these games).
The Gunners have won 26/29 matches where they led at half-time. Conversely, Bournemouth have lost 18/20 in which they trailed at the break, so we’re backing Arsenal to get back to winning ways with a half-time/full-time (W/W) .
