Watford might struggle to keep a clean sheet but can still take maximum points.
Watford v Stoke - Sunday 12:00, Sky Sports 1
Watford recovered from their bruising 6-1 defeat away at Liverpool to beat champions Leicester at home with a couple of early goals. It was the first time in seven matches where they managed to score during the first half, and indeed Stoke have suffered a similar problem, managing just four first-half strikes in their 12 matches this season. With this in mind, it’s worth getting on the second period to be the highest scoring half.
Stoke’s good run of form came to an end at home to Bournemouth last week. They had been unbeaten in six prior to the defeat, but can have no complaints here after they should have had a penalty awarded against them after 11 minutes and Ryan Shawcross sent off for the tackle from behind. They’ve been less than impressive on the road, winning just once in nine, and only managing a single clean sheet in their last 16.
Watford have been quietly moving up the table under Walter Mazzarri this season, and the defeat to Liverpool is their only loss in their last six, having won three of their last five. At Vicarage Road they’ve won three of four unbeaten matches, but they’ve struggled to keep the opposition out over the course of 90 minutes, with their only clean sheet this term coming against Hull. As a result, Watford/both teams to score at 4.5 offers decent value.
