Hearts can maintain their good home record in Wednesday's live TV clash with Rangers.
Hearts v Rangers – Wednesday 19:45, BT Sport 1
Hearts have a chance to overtake Rangers and claim second place in the Scottish Premiership if they can win at home on Wednesday night. Rangers have made a habit of leaving it late, winning both of their last two matches in the 90th minute, and after a comfortable 3-0 home win on Saturday, Hearts will fancy their chances against the Glaswegians.
Hearts have struggled for consistency this season, but they will hope they have turned a corner after their weekend victory against Motherwell, which put to an end a run of four without a win (albeit with Hearts recording three consecutive come-from-behind draws in that stretch). Rangers are without Niko Kranjcar, but Jordan Rossiter could return for the visitors, which would be a fillip to the Rangers’ forward lines. They have scored in all of their away games this season, and they are coming up against a Hearts defence that has conceded in nine of their last 12 games, so it is likely that they will get on the scoresheet at some stage.
Hearts are a very tricky team to beat at home: they’ve only lost once in the league at Tynecastle since May, and we think they’re beginning to find some form, but the stats suggest we’ll see goals at both ends. Consequently, we’re going for Hearts and both teams to score.
