Fiorentina have done the double over the Nerazzurri in both the last two seasons.
Inter v Fiorentina - Monday 20:00, BT Sport 1
Inter ended last week on a high as Ivan Perisic equalized during injury time in the Milan derby, handing Stefano Pioli a valuable point in his first game in charge. However, they got a taste of their own medicine midweek in the Europa League, losing a two goal lead with Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s winner coming in the 93rd minute. It leaves them with one win in six, having lost half of these games, and with a trip to Napoli next on the schedule the new coach could do with a positive result here.
Fiorentina suffered a similar fate in their Europa League match hosting PAOK, where they were beaten 2-3 by a last minute winner having fought back from two goals down. However, they crushed Empoli 0-4 at the Stadio Carlo Castellani last week and on the back of a good run of form will be feeling confident of edging this contest. They’re unbeaten in six in Serie A (W3-D3) and sit one place and two points above Inter with a game in hand to boot.
Fiorentina have done the double over the Nerazzurri in both the last two seasons, and we’re backing them to make it five in a row here with Fiorentina/Over 2.5 goals at 6.1. There have been at least three strikes in six of six of Inter’s last seven matches and also in six of Fiorentina’s last seven on the road. Furthermore, seven of the last eight meetings between these two have thrown up at least three match goals.
