Ibergman isn’t the most straightforward of characters but there’s no denying her qualities.
IN SALUTEM (best price 4/1)
was quite impressive when lowering the colours of the strongly-fancied Bantam on her latest outing at Newton Abbot and given that the runner-up was rated 130 going into that contest, the assessor may still be on the lenient side with the Philip Hobbs-trained mare on handicap debut. The time figure of that race at the West Country venue certainly suggest that’s the case and with the ground very much in the favour of the daughter of Tobougg, she rates a decent bet at her early quotes to bag another winner for her in-from stable and jockey combo.

As ever, Dan Skelton has made a positive start to the season and renown for turning around the fortunes of other yard’s cast-offs, PAIN AU CHOCOLAT> (best price 3/1)
looks an interesting runner on his first start for the Warwickshire handler. A very smart juvenile when in the care of Alan King, he’s always been regarded as a potential chaser and receiving all the allowances as a four-year-old, he’s likely to prove a match for most of this field with a clear round.

IBERGMAN> (best price 10/3)
isn’t the most straightforward of characters but there’s no denying her qualities – as she proved at Navan last time out. Coming from what appeared an uncompromising position, Sheila Lavery’s inmate gunned down her field in the latter stages – including main market rival Cailin Mor – and even though she’s been raised a further 9lb in the interim, she gives the impression there may be plenty more to come.

DEBT FREE DAME> (best price 6/1)
has posted two decent speed figures in defeat on her most recent visits to the Dunstall Park venue and is likely to be on the premises again if she runs to a similar standard (form figures of 1232 at track). Up against the likes of the well-handicapped pair Ustinov and Seychelloise of late, Mick Easterby’s charge has clearly had plenty on her plate, but as this race doesn’t appear to contain anything as progressive as that pair, the daughter of Arcano makes plenty of each-way appeal.
