James Ewart's charge will take some stopping on a track that will suit his style of running.
SERENITY NOW (best price 7/4)
seemed to win with a bit to spare at Towcester last time and looks capable of going in again if running to a similar level. In good heart on the Flat over the summer months, Brian Ellison’s charge was strongly fancied to take advantage of what seemed to be a fair mark returning to hurdles, but after running too keen due to lack of pace, he failed to see out the 2m 4f trip over a stiff track. Seen to much better effect when they went a decent pace at the Northamptonshire venue 30 days ago, he found a ready turn of foot once asked to go about his work and providing Craig Gallagher can get his mount to switch off in the early stages, there’s every chance he will repeat the dose.

If it wasn’t for falling when seemingly going well four out at Wetherby two starts ago, ARISTO DU PLESIS (best price 13/8)
would be unbeaten in his last five starts and given how he got back on the winning trail at Ayr last time, it would be a brave man to suggest his unstoppable run is about to end. Best when allowed to bowl along in front, this keen-going sort also finds plenty for pressure at the business – as he proved at the Scottish venue when looking sure to be gobbled up two out. Sharp tracks clearly suit James Ewart’s inmate, so the tight nature of today’s course should prove ideal and with plenty of form on soft ground to his name, it won’t bother him either if the course soaks up plenty of rain.

DESTINY AWAITS (best price 6/1)
provided his new handler, Keith Pollock, with his first ever winner at Ayr last time out and there’s every reason to suggest he will go well again in a race where only two jump off the page. The son of Dubai Destination seemed to really appreciate the stamina test he received at the Scottish track when getting the better of a protracted dual with Bracing, and with the pair pulling miles clear of the rest, the form looks reasonably solid for the grade. Obviously he has the looming presence of Bruce Almighty to deal with, but at the same time, he should beat the rest of the field at the very least and that makes him a wise choice for the each-way bandits.
