NEVER EQUALLED (best price 4/1)
benefited from a more positive ride at Chepstow last time and a repeat of those tactics should ensure Bernard Llewellyn’s charge puts up another brave fight in this similar race. Taking up the running at the second, the Brian Boru gelding looked like he’d got the race in safe keeping only for the useful Nansaroy run him out of the argument close home, but with the pair well clear, the form looks reasonably solid. On top of that, the speed figure of the race suggests in was an above-average affair and with testing ground in his favour, he rates the proverbial each-way bet to nothing around the 4/1 mark.

MISDFLIGHT (best price 9/2)
won with more to spare than the official margin suggested at Fairyhouse last time and can follow up that smooth success with conditions to suit. Always travelling well in the hands of Denis Hogan, the son of Indian River settled the issue with a ready turn of foot in the closing stages and even though he’s been handed a 12lb rise in the ratings in return by the handicapper, that might not be sufficient to prevent the in-form five-year-old from repeating the dose.

Things didn’t quite pan out for QUALITY SONG(NAP) (best price 7/4)
over the C&D last time out, but given the way he finished off his race having suffered interference at a crucial stage, he rates a solid choice to put matters right. Coming with what appeared to be a potent challenge rounding the home turn, Richard Hughes’ charge ran into a wall of horse rounding the home turn and even though he did his utmost to make up the lost leeway, he couldn’t quite peg back Ickymasho, who had skipped merrily clear of the fracas in behind. As the son of Elusive Quality had beaten subsequent scorer Grand Meister easily over the same track the time before, it makes sense to judge him on that form rather than unlucky performance 16 days ago and he rates the best bet on the card hailing from a stable that are beginning to gather nice head of steam.
