AWAY FOR SLATES(best odds 9/2) didn't wait on ceremony to take advantage of a favourable handicap mark when scoring on his second outing in this sphere at Musselburgh last time out and he looks primed to go well again despite being raised 5lb for this slightly tougher assignment. There was plenty to like about the way Keith Dalgleish's charge pulled clear of Teo Vivo in the closing stages of that strongly run contest at the Scottish venue and with that horse going to to boost the form with a tremendous effort back at the same track two days ago, the son of Arcadio can be expected to follow suit.

SHINYHAPPYJOHN(best odds 13/2) isn't exactly prolific - as a career record of one win in 26 suggests - but given his optimum conditions of 6f at this track and he tends to run his race more often than not. James Nash's inmate certainly intimated that he's nearing peak form with an eye-catching display over an inadequate 5f here last week and that performance should put him at fever pitch to repeat his previous C&D win last March.

Although ROSE ANGEL(best odds 11/4) never looked like winning here last week she did more than enough to suggests she's ready to return to winning ways at a track that has served her best over the last few seasons. Often slowly away, Peter Casey's mate once again put herself behind the eight ball in the early stages of what turned out to be an extremely strongly run race for the grade but given that she finished best of all to claim the runner-up spot behind Tribal Path, it's not difficult to envisage her gobbling up this field over an extra furlong.
