3.35 Market Rasen

Quite impressive when opening her account over today’s C&D two starts ago, MILLY BALOO (NAP) (best price 11/4) can count herself unfortunate to bump into the progressive Tanarpino in her follow-up bid back at the Lincolnshire venue on her most recent outing and she is taken to get back to winning ways despite being raised another 3lb for that defeat. Time may tell, Tim Easterby’s inmate faced an impossible task trying to match strides with Jenny Caldlish’s charge here 18 days ago (winner runs 30 mins earlier in the hot EBF qualifier), but given the way she travelled through the contest and the fact the final circuit time was the quickest on the card, the daughter of Desideratum still comes out of the race with great credit.

Sir Billy Wright is bound to have his supporters following his excellent performer over this course after a break last time out, but he’s passed over on value grounds in favour of CLUBLAND (best price 6/1), who ran equally as well in a hot race at Wolverhampton three weeks ago. Posted out wide throughout, Roy Bowring’s charge did remarkable well to finish as close as he did to the progressive Nuno Tristan given the ground he forfeited and with the time of the race suggesting the form is well worth following (Rich Again won subsequently), the son of Red Clubs makes plenty of each-way appeal at his early quotes returning to a surface which has served him well in the past.
