Tom Stanley fancies a Venetia Williams-trained runner at Ascot this afternoon.
Struggling for a bet today in all honesty, certainly for one at fancy prices. Ballyalton was a close call but I do think this Drumacoo could be very, very good and the juice has gone out of the former’s price. Arctic Gold was another that tempted but Montdragon is a horse very much on the up and could have Coral Cup plans, a race for which he’d probably need a rise to be certain of a run. The pace on will suit Arctic Gold but he doesn't quite convince. One horse worth having on side at his favourite track is Rigadin De Beauchene. He was unlucky last time when brought down and is now back at the scene of his last 2 wins. This ground is very much in his favour and he’s just 2lb above his win in this 2 years ago, when beating a subsequent Welsh National winner. He’ll have company up top but he doesn’t have to lead, he can happily sit just in behind, and I’m surprised he’s not shorter.
