Subscribers to the Shropshire Wolves owners club certainly get their money’s worth, and one of the regular contributors, QUEEN AGGIE(best price 9/2), looks destined to put some more funds into the coffers if she can run to a similar level of form she displayed here three days ago. Up till that performance, Tony Carroll’s charge had suggested she wasn’t really in love with the sharp nature of the Surrey venue (still yet to win in 10 starts at the track), so it was encouraging to say least to see her post a career-high performance away from her beloved Dunstall Park. Moreover, considering the last four furlongs were covered in 44.8 from the winner, Saucy Minx (in-keeping with 5f sprint pace), it was an even more praiseworthy effort than at first glance, and providing usual front-runner Russian Reward tows the field along at decent pace, it should provide the daughter of Elnadim to produce her customary late burst.

Although not quite in the realms of being lined up to appear in the next set of Hamlet cigar adverts just yet (one for the old school brigade), ROYAL BIRTH’s(best price 9/2) propensity to dwell as the stalls crash back has cost him plenty of races in the past and he simply can’t afford to nod off up against the standard of opponent he faces this afternoon. He has, however, pulled off several Houdini acts in the past - most notably at Chelmsford two starts ago when seemingly losing his chance by fly-jumping and losing many lengths at the start – so equally you shouldn’t be throwing your docket into the nearest thrash can if he does. As there’s likely to be bucket-loads of early speed in this potential tear-up, the pace should collapse dramatically in the closing stages and providing Stuart Williams’ charge is within hailing distance of the front-runners turning for home, he has a decent chance of gunning the field down in the home straight.
